Adelaide, Government Printer, November 1992; March 1993; and September 1993.

Large octavo, three volumes, xxvi, 475; xvi, 289; and xvi, 281 pages.

Original full blue leather (the Final Report differing a little); the first two volumes lightly scuffed; an excellent set.

The complete report of the Royal Commission into the collapse of the State Bank of South Australia in 1991, from the collection of the Royal Commissioner, Samuel J. Jacobs AO QC. Loosely inserted is a greetings card dated 5 March 1993, inscribed 'from all your friends at the Royal Commission'. Also loosely inserted is a sheet of paper with Commissioner Jacobs' Royal Commission letterhead and the following (uncredited) typewritten comment: 'If one may be permitted to use language some of which is more familiar in a Biblical context - Mr Bannon was impaired by Faith, and - The Board relied on Hope but Mr Clark, though clearly in love with the Bank, was more deeply in love with himself. He was worshipped in the self-created role of godfather of the Bank, but his worshippers were to discover that, like all false gods, he was after all a brazen idol with feet of clay'.
