You don't have permission to access /item/76396/A selection of four mounted vintage photographs of contemporary paintings of Boer War scenes, of interest as much for their content as for their provenance. Three of the photographs are captioned: 'Kommandant Generaal Louis Botha ... Anglo-Boer-Oorlog 1899-1900' (190 x 145 mm, with the credit 'G. Budricks / Photo / 28 Church St / Capetown' in the negative); 'The Battle of Magersfontein on December 11 [1899]' (95 x 140 mm); and 'Charge of C Squadron 5th Lancers at Elandlaagte [21 October 1899]' (a painting by Richard Caton Woodville, 145 x 90 mm). The uncaptioned photograph is a scene of British heavy artillery getting the worst of it in severe battle conditions, and is probably also by Woodville (103 x 150 mm). All dimensions given are the image size; the mounts add an extra 70-80 mm in each direction. The condition is uniformly fine on this server.
