Johns pioneered the who's who in Austral[as]ia, publishing his first volume in 1906, with a second one appearing in 1908. In 1912, the first volume of the 'Fred Johns's Annual' series appeared, giving rise to the slightly confusing 'Third year of issue' statement in this edition - it is strictly speaking the fifth edition. This copy was originally in the collection of the author's only child, Mildred.
