'English Sporting Guns, Volume 1'. A cloth-bound volume containing twelve trade catalogues of firearms and accessories
The item comes from the working library of W.E. Ekins and Son, gunmakers and gunsmiths in Adelaide from 1879 to 1969. The catalogues date from the late 1800s and early 1900s; manufacturers represented are Scott & Son, Hunter Arms Company, Cashmore, Charles Boswell, Claborough & Johnstone, Holloway (three catalogues), Holloway & Naughton, Thomas Bland, Webley, and Webley & Scott. Sizes vary from octavo to large oblong quarto; all original covers are retained. The condition is very good to excellent, with the exception of the largest and oldest ('Webley's Solid-frame Revolvers', 1889 - hardly sporting!) which has some chipped margins neatly reinforced with paper. Further details are available on request.
