Cloth a little marked, sunned, and slightly bumped at the extremities, with a tiny split to the head of the spine; a very good copy, uncut and unopened.

Provenance: George Fife Angas, with his ownership signature ('G.F. Angas') in pencil at the head of the title page. The book has the (later) inkstamp of 'Herbert Angas Parsons, Solicitor, Adelaide' on the front endpaper; the name of George Fife Angas in pencil on the front free endpaper is in a later secretarial hand. George Fife Angas (1789-1879), South Australian pioneer: although his 'prominence in the foundation of South Australia has been somewhat exaggerated ... he deserves full credit for the capital and settlers that he introduced into the new colony' ('Australian Dictionary of Biography'). Sir Herbert Angas Parsons (1872-1945) was the son of Rosetta (Rose) Angas Johnson, George Fife Angas's granddaughter.
