An albumen paper carte de visite photograph of a relatively young man in a wheelchair
The portrait (image size 94 x 57 mm) is mounted as issued on a plain card. It is inscribed in ink on the verso 'Gilbert Wilton' (possibly the subject, but we cannot readily trace him). The photographer is not identified, but the basic backdrop in the image would suggest he was a travelling photographer. The item was found in an album in Adelaide, so it is probably of South Australian origin. This image probably dates from the 1880s.
